Martin Odegaard

Club captain Martin Odegaard has been a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s side since his arrival on loan from Real Madrid in January 2021. He made that move permanent in the summer of 2021 and hasn’t looked back, claiming the armband in the summer of 2022.

A gifted playmaker who leads by by example, whether by pressing from the front, tracking back to regain possession or leading the forward charge, Martin has been a produced a constant output across each season.

Across his first five season as a Gunner, Martin has netted 41 goals in all competitions and provided 38 assists. His incredible performances have seen him win our Player of the Season award on two occasions, in 2022/23 and 2023/24. He was also named in PFA Team of the Year in both of those campaigns.

The hugely talented and quietly authoritative midfielder made his senior debut for Stromgodsetaged at 15, then signed for Madrid shortly afterwards and became their youngest player aged 16 years and 157 days.

He has been a full international since August 2014, when he became Norway’s youngest ever player, aged 15 years and 253 days, and he has captained his country since March 2021.
