Karl Hein

Talented goalkeeper Karl Hein signed a new contract in 2024 before heading to La Liga on loan, joining Real Valladolid.

During the 2024/25 season, Karl played 32 times, keeping five clean sheets for Valladolid.

A bright prospect from a young age, he made his senior debut against Brighton & Hove Albion at Emirates Stadium in the Carabao Cup in November 2022, having joined our academy in June 2018 and signed his first pro contract the following year.

Karl has been a regular for Estonia since making his senior debut in September 2020 at the age of 18 against Georgia in the UEFA Nations League. The 6ft 4in keeper, who cuts an imposing figure between the posts but also has great technique, joined from Estonian side Nomme United, where he made his debut aged 16.

The Estonian Young Player of the Year in 2020 and 2021 featured in the first-team squad in 2021/22 before joining Championship side Reading on loan for the second half of the campaign and helping them avoid relegation.

In August 2025, Karl joined Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen on a season-long loan.
